I am so sorry for the downtime that has been ongoing for more than 24 hours. Whilst this journal is recovered, the actual MyChores site is not yet back. I feel awful about this; i know there are people who rely on MyChores on a daily basis. All i can do is apologise.

Sorry there haven’t been many MyChores updates for a while. The good news is, my computer is now back up and working. I am keen to get some updates finished and released soon, but i’m afraid i got lost deep within Second Life this weekend!! (The joys of having a good graphics card, heh!)

Followers of my personal journal will know that i have been having computer troubles. I think the power supply unit died following a series of little power cuts that we had last weekend. I have ordered a new PSU and will be putting it together next week. Hopefully that will bring the computer back to [...]

Our hosting company will be taking the server down for some maintenance work. The downtime should last no longer than 1 hour and will be sometime between 2am and 4am tomorrow morning. That’s Central Standard Time, so for UK that’ll be between 8am and 10am tomorrow morning.
I apologise for any inconvenience this will cause.

MyChores was down for about an hour this morning, unexpectedly for me. What actually happened was HostingRails were upgrading the server - it now has twice as much RAM as before. This is a good thing - hopefully should mean faster response times for us now.

It seems to me that the DNS is fully updated now; i haven’t had any problems with MyChores this morning. I have also set the email settings to send email from the new server, and that seems to be working fine too.
Is everybody receiving their emails? At the right time? Give or take an hour [...]

I have set up a spreadsheet as a simple way of tracking changes. both planned and implemented.
