The wonderful people at HostingRails have set up a Sender Policy Framework for us. This means that mail from MyChores can only come from one particular server. If it does not, then it is somebody else spoofing our email address, and most email clients should simply reject it.

It has come to my attention that some low-life piece of scum is sending out spam emails making them look as if they came from MyChores. These emails absolutely categorically did not come from MyChores. I am disgusted at the motives of whoever is doing this - doing their dirty work under cover and tarnishing [...]

To avoid any confusion, when you are creating a new task the button at the bottom now says ‘Save task’ instead of ‘Create task’ like it used to. Hopefully that should be a bit more obvious what it’s about to do! All the buttons should be a bit more consistent throughout the site now.

The Yahoo block has prompted me to make some important changes to MyChores and emails.
For a long time i have required email addresses to be verified before MyChores sent any emails. Once verified, however, i assumed that everyone wants daily emails. As from tonight, new people will be able to specify exactly what they want [...]

I thought about this problem vaguely at the back of my mind all afternoon, and as i was walking home, the answer came to me! I am sure it is to do with time zones and daylight saving. MyChores is not clever enough to understand daylight saving … or rather, i am not clever enough [...]

I am sorry to say that escalation actions are not working at the moment. When a task is missed, there are options to increase importance or skip it to next time. Neither of these are currently happening.
At the moment i do not know why, though i suspect it may have something to do with USA [...]

It has come to my attention that the tool to import pictures from Flickr only works for public pictures. If it finds just one private picture, it falls over. This is clearly sub-optimal and i will look into it soon to see if there is a way around this awkward problem.
