Improved search functionality
The search-as-you-type had started to become unreliable and tonight i discovered that it was slowing down the entire site very badly. So i have changed it to a more traditional form with a submit button.
I have wanted to do this for ages: there are several advantages, including being able to narrow down what you are searching for (tips, people, teams, lists, or tasks) and the ability to choose how many results of each are returned.
It also means we can have a search box on every page for quickly finding things. This was something requested by Mary a while ago. I agreed that it was a good idea - i’m sorry that i waited until the old method completely broke to get around to doing it. You’ll find the search box on the right-hand navigator, just under the Logout link.
I hope there aren’t any bugs - i put it together in kind of a hurry!! Please let me know if you spot anything wrong with it!
