Only today’s tasks?
Well here’s something i knocked up in an hour - a useful suggestion from Jerry, that the workload list might be configurable to show only today’s tasks. No overdue tasks, no tasks due tomorrow - just today’s.
Jerry’s reasoning is that it would be nice and easy for kids, and i totally agree. That would be the central idea of MyChores for Kids … but of course, i haven’t got round to making that yet! So this is a kind of half-way house. I’m glad i did it because it’s not just kids that could make use of an uncluttered “Today’s todo list”. Personally i like to know what’s coming up in the next few days, but i can foresee that other people might find it useful to have only today’s tasks shown to them at a time.
So you set it up in Preferences, under Workload Preferences. Where it says “Workload shows:” you have All tasks, Only my tasks, and the new option: Only today’s tasks. They are incremental filters, so “Only today’s tasks” really means “Only my tasks that are due today”.
If you use this option just be careful you don’t lose overdue tasks and never see them again! You could of course set your tasks to automatically re-schedule if they are missed.
The new filter applies to Workload, Hot map and Collage. The calendar view will still show all tasks, and if you view a list you will see all tasks belonging to that list, not just today’s tasks.
I think it’s about time i got started on MyChores for Kids …! ;)
