MyChores account on Twitter

I have set up a special MyChores account on Twitter. Imaginitively enough, it’s at twitter.com/mychores.

The primary objective of this is to be able to give out information about MyChores in the event that the servers go down, as they did twice this week.

However, simplify3 has also given me the idea of using the Twitter API to send direct messages. Thus, if you add MyChores Twitter account to your friends, i could feasibly use Twitter to send you a direct message every day, giving you your chores list. If you have mobile phone alerts switched on, you would therefore get a text message. BINGO! You know what your chores are for the day without even having to switch on your computer!

One important change i will have to make first, though, is allowing you to choose what time of day you want your alerts. I suppose not many people are going to want a text message at 04:01 GMT, heheh! I have been talking about this with jinkies and it seems a good idea for the emails as well as for Twitter text messages.

Anyway, in the meantime please feel free to add twitter.com/mychores to your Twitter friends list! :D
