Quick ticking with AJAX - totally Web 2.0!

This update is a real treat – think of it as an early Christmas present!

When you tick off tasks, you no longer have to wait for MyChores to work out the next due date, check if it needs to be re-assigned, maybe make a Twitter post … it now does all that behind the scenes.

All you will see is the task fade and disappear off your workload list. Okay, there are some disadvantages to this. It could be that the task is supposed to re-appear further down the workload list. It won’t do that now, until you refresh the page. Also you no longer get the feedback, telling you that the task updated, and whether a Twitter update was successful.

However, i think for the performance improvement, these drawbacks are acceptable. You should notice a massive speed improvement now that it doesn’t have to reload the entire page every time you tick off a task.

If you don’t like the way this works, or if your browser doesn’t support JavaScript you can go to Preferences – Workload preferences and tick ‘Disable JavaScript’ and it’ll work the way it used to.

Still, i hope this will be a big improvement for the majority of people using MyChores.
