Logo contest - it’s time to vote!

With thanks to PollDaddy.com, here is the poll where you can vote for your favourite new logo (or vote for the current one if you want to keep it the same).

Click each entry to see a bigger version. It will open in a new window/tab.

It’s not too late to get your submission in if you want to be included in the contest. Just send it to (click for email address) and i’ll add it to the poll.

Everyone can vote for one entry. I am mainly announcing this to people who actually use MyChores, but there is nothing to stop anyone else from voting if they want to.

I will announce the results in 2 weeks time: Monday 18th May.

The current one is the best of the bunch. I’m a designer and have designed many logos over the years. I see no need to change it… it’s clear, crisp and professional-looking! It says ‘organization’ which is the image I think you want to project. I think it’s a great logo, much better than many others online. The new offerings don’t quite cut it, in my opinion.
    good luck!

Thank you very much for your feedback. I have been told that the current one is too fuzzy. I’m really glad to hear you like it.

Currently it’s a very close call between the current logo and the notebook/pencil one. I shall make sure that the current logo stays available via a theme.

I much prefer the current one! I understand wanting to change it, but the others choices don’t really ‘do it’ for me.

I like the current one. The brightness of the colours suggest how bright and cheery you feel when your place is clean. The ‘reflection’ effect gives the impression of shiny floors and cleanliness! :)

I am the Senior Creative Graphic Designer at our company, and also own my own graphic design company, and I agree. Even though I created one of the options, I voted for the current one. To me it is very clean, crisp and refreshing, and has a very modern look to it. Kudos to whoever designed it.

I agree with everyone else! The current logo is the best of the bunch. I guess option 2, “a new take on the current logo,” is my second choice, but the outlines make that version look dingy compared to the original. Maybe whoever told you the current logo looks “fuzzy” needs to clean their computer monitor :o)

Thank you everyone, very much, for your comments.

I am encouraged to hear that people like the current logo. I particularly like Rudie’s explanation of the impression it gives. I’m not a designer so i didn’t really have those things in mind when i made it. Just a fluke, haha!

After this contest and the poll, i think the following will happen:

    * The current logo will stay as the default logo.
    * The notebook and pencil will be available as a theme for those who like it, since it also did quite well in the poll
    * With Gavin’s permission, i would like to use the rosette idea somehow, but i’m not sure exactly how or where. Possibly on MyChores for Kids (yeah, that ever-elusive thing that i keep saying i’ll write!)

Thanks again for all the useful feedback.

I was very torn between the bag of chore stuff and the memo.
I liked the graphical bag very much (more?) but by many people your site is used for far more that relates to task organisation generally, so I went for the more formal memo spiral.
Don’t be offended but I found the house version a little too close to the energy supplier homesite logo.
Interestingly, that site no longer uses the logo and now redirects to the corporate site.
MyChores for Small Goats is a really good idea that you must follow - up and which I am sure will be an amazing success. I can understand your caution, however. It is a huge responsibility doing any site for these small creatures and I believe that you would want to do it when you can give it a “few hours” ;>) ‘exclusive’ thought so you get it right first time.
    Will it be another Ruby?
Don’t be bullied - Choose the right time for you!
Thank you and Very Best Regards,
    Roger.

Footnote: As usual, your idea (of ’skinning’ options) is the best.
On reflection, I’m in love with your original logo too!
    Roger.
