Google JavaScript Libraries

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Today’s minor piece of news: we are now using Prototype and hosted by Google AJAX Libraries API. What does this mean? To most of you, nothing whatsoever. Everything should just continue working as before. It may be a little bit faster, since i hear Google have some pretty nifty web servers!
The other good reason [...]

Tips working again

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Apologies for tips not displaying today - it is fixed now.
The problem turned out to be with the will_paginate plugin. I have now changed over to mislav’s will_paginate plugin. For good measure i also updated the acts_as_taggable_on_steroids plugin, so we’re right up to date now! :)
Any problems, just let me know!

Expand/collapse lists in navigator

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Another good suggestion from our 1000th member castlequeen - you can now get your lists to appear in the navigator, underneath tasks, by a simple expand function.
Here’s a very quick demo (thanks Youtube!) …

This is exciting because it shows off more of what i have been learning lately about JavaScript and AJAX. No longer am [...]

Drag and drop re-scheduling now even better!

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Now when you drag lots of items to the same day, they don’t all pile up on top of each other - they arrange themselves neatly! :)

Okay, no more excuses, here’s a proper new feature for you … and it should be a useful one. As requested by castlequeen and bellweather, you can now drag tasks around on the calendar view.
It should be pretty obvious how it works. There is a drag handle next to each task to let you pick [...]

I have been quite busy lately and haven’t had time for much MyChores development. I do, however, have a little bit of news: [...]

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

If you want an easy way to do a lucky dip, just drag this bookmark to your toolbar.
Lucky dip
Then, if you don’t like the task it picks for you, you can just press the button again and get another one!
Yesterday was a very busy day on MyChores with 230 tasks completed. That is a record [...]

Lucky dip!

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

After a heavy afternoon working on the MyChores API i decided to do something fun for a bit of light relief!
If you have a lot of tasks to do and don’t really know where to start, try the Lucky dip! It will choose a random task that is assigned to you and either due today [...]
